Lockdown-inspired new music video from UK soul singer brings together fans from across the world

Tony Momrelle’s music has positivity and optimism deeply embedded. From the first album ‘Keep Pushing’, whose eponymous track encouraged perseverance in the face of struggle, to the sophomore LP ‘Best Is Yet To Come’, Momrelle has had a singular message running throughout much of his music: life will get better, just don’t give up.

“We’ve never needed this message more than we do right now,” Momrelle says. “COVID-19 has tested all of us on a global scale: physically, mentally, emotionally.”

In his new, feel-good single ‘Escape’, taken from a new EP due in April entitled ‘Lockdown Acoustic Sessions’, Momrelle sings lyrics like ‘Look for a future filled with brighter days’ over upbeat acoustic guitars (Luca Faraone & Mauro Laconi), cajon (Alessio Barelli) and bass (Luca Faraone).

Momrelle continues: “This song is all about lockdown - it was written and recorded in the thick of 2020. It’s about escaping your surroundings; finding that place mentally that helps you to keep your sanity in the midst of all the madness.”

The music video for ‘Escape’ was – naturally – recorded at a distance. “We crowd-sourced the video” says Momrelle. “Fans from all over the world, from the UK to Japan to Brazil, came together to record bits of the track. We can’t all be in the same room right now, but music always brings people together.”

‘Escape’ is out for pre-order from February 12th, and will be available on all stores and streaming services from February 26th.
